The Somali Youth Charter

The Somali Youth Charter

January 11, 2013

The Somali Youth Charter, created by young Somalis involved in the Somalia Human Development Report 2012, provides guiding principles for youth in Somalia to address their daily concerns and needs. Youth representatives from different organizations across Somaliland, Puntland, and South-central Somalia collaborated to create the Charter, which represents the unified voice of Somali youth in building an inclusive society. It highlights the youth's concerns and issues, empowering them socially, economically, and politically, and sets aside their differences to attain common goals.
