Project background

In 2010, the Government of Timor-Leste established the Department of Peacebuilding and Social Cohesion (DPBSC) which is the part of the conflict prevention and peacebuilding portfolio within the Ministry of Social Solidarity.

Project activities

  • To support MSS DPBSC to increase its capacities to consolidate and strengthen social cohesion and women's engagement
  • To support MSS to develop its mechanisms, processes and capacities to make its policise and programmes more conflict sensitive
  • To strengthen MSS's role and capacity to integrate a conflict sensitive approach into key national policies and programs

Project results

The Timor-Leste Resilience and Social Cohesion (TLRSC) project aims to strengthen government’s capacity for peacebuilding and social cohesion both at the national and community levels. Moreover, the project supports to develop policies, plans and programmes through capacity development and greater participation in peacebuilding and social cohesion activities and conflict sensitive analysis.
