Environmental License

June 10, 2024

Environmental License is one of the requirements by the GCF aligned with the UNDP Social and Environmental Framework to ensure minimization and mitigation of the environmental harmful impact during the construction and operation phase.  It is required to secure the Environmental License through the legal authority before the project implementation.

The license was officially handed over on 28 May 2024, for the sub-projects of 7 Rural Roads, 1 Water Supply System, and 1 Irrigation System from ANLA, I.P. (National Environmental Licensing Authority). With the license, it can ensure the project implementation of nine (9) schemes that will benefit 14,370 people (male: 7,206 and female: 7,164), for a total of 2,643 households in six municipalities (Aileu, Baucau, Ermera, Liquica, Lautem, and Viqueque).
