Project applications for the "Adaptation to Climate Change Grant Program" were announced to be opened as of 14.10.2020. The program is funded by the European Union and the Republic of Turkey and carried out by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization with the support of UNDP Turkey.
The total amount of funds allocated for the projects to be supported under the program is €6,800,000 and the deadline for pre-application is 28.12.2020.
Global objectives of the grant program are to improve adaptation to climate change in Turkey whereas its specific aims are to increase the resilience of communities and cities, protect natural resources and ecosystems, and increase the adaptability of the affected economic sectors.
Non-governmental organizations (associations and foundations etc.), municipalities, local authorities (regional or provincial directorate, special provincial administration, governorship, etc.), universities or research institutions/centers, development agencies, local level enterprises such as non-profit trade unions, cooperatives, chambers, professional organizations and organizations representing the private sector can apply for grant projects of 12 to 18 months.
In order to introduce the grant program and to provide detailed information about the preparation of the project proposal, information days with a total of 1500 participants have been held on 23-26-28-30 October and 2-4-6 November via online tools.
