Trainings of "I Can Manage My Money" Project targeting young people to teach them financial literacy and budget management, have been carried out in online platforms such as YouTube and Zoom since March.
Online training sessions on Zoom are organized especially for university clubs. In the sessions held for small groups of 15-20 people, topics such as sample budget, savings, expenditure decisions, investment, borrowing, financial rights and obligations of consumers are covered. With 37 training sessions held since March, 1,877 young people have been trained.
Also, in webinars which are broadcasted live on Habitat Association’s YouTube channel, different topics such as budget management, spending habits, understanding macroeconomics, what to consider when investing, debt management, future economy and financial security are covered every week.
In July, webinars were held on “Consumer Rights in the Online World” and “The Unwritten History of Money”. Given by experts in their fields, they were attended by 1,638 people in total.

“I Can Manage My Money” Project stakeholders met online
Under the Project, the "New Season Strategy Development Workshop" was held online through Zoom platform. The workshop was organized with the aim to increase the social impact of the project trainings, to reach more people by expanding the access through different collaborations and to ensure the sustainability of the project. It was realized with the participation of project partners and public, private sector and non-governmental organizations, including the Presidency of Strategy and Budget, Turkish Capital Markets Association, Borsa Istanbul, Central Bank, Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Services, Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Hacettepe University, Bahçeşehir University, Boğaziçi University, and Financial Literacy and Access Association.
“I Can Manage My Money” Project, implemented in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Habitat Association and Visa Turkey with the support of 30 banks and e-money institutions since 2009, aims to raise awareness of young people on financial literacy and contribute to sustainable development.
