The first phase of the vocational skills courses, of which the theoretical part was organized online and the practical part in workshops, was completed last week within the scope of the pilot implementation in Adana Vocational Training Center, first time in Turkey as a pioneer application. The trainings which are designed as a result of the analyses for the need of qualified workforce in the region, consist of 6 stages in total.
The first one of these pilot trainings implemented within the scope of the Adana Vocational Training Center Technical Assistance Project, carried out in cooperation with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Adana Chamber of Industry (ADASO), with the financial support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), is titled “Gas Welders”. The theoretical training was carried out online and the practical training was held in workshops with a total of 14 participants.
Pilot training courses completed successfully
After successfully completing the courses in the pilot training, participants are also given the opportunity to work in companies in their fields. In order to meet the expectations in the industry, measurement and evaluation services will be provided within the application. The pilot implementation will be completed with conceptualization of Adana Vocational Training Center's business model; design, improvement and development of vocational education and training modules; the certification of Adana Vocational Education and Training Center and the realization of accreditation activities.
The primary goal of the trainings is to develop the industry of the region and the country and to improve the economy. In this context, it is also aimed to contribute directly to national strategies for quality workforce and vocational training.
Adana Vocational Training Center Technical Assistance Project
The "Adana Vocational Training Center Technical Assistance Project", realized in cooperation with UNDP and ADASO with the financial support of EBRD, is shaped according to the local needs and economic structure in Adana. The main focus of the project is to provide high-quality technical assistance and consultancy services, while contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals and the national strategies regarding quality workforce and quality vocational training. It is also important in terms of being the first financial support agreement signed between EBRD and UNDP.
