The Education-information Centers were established at local Employment and Labour Departments of STRIVE Asia project pilot cities: Ashgabat, Dashoguz, Mary, Tejen, Turkmenabat, and Turkmenbashi. The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population of Turkmenistan provided premises and necessary infrastructure and UNDP in Turkmenistan procured and handed over IT equipment that included 28 desktop computers, 3 printers and 3 projectors within the STRIVE Asia project.

To ensure the sustainability of these initiatives, the sides agreed and signed the Protocol on the Establishment and the Regulations of the Education-Information Centers.

The Centers will serve as a partnership platform for interested partners to conduct job skills training and training on psychological and legal support for youth. It is also expected that the new Centers will promote cooperation of the national side with international partners, including UN Agencies on youth employment and social support. The Centers will have “Open Hours” for public to provide opportunity for youth to explore new technological opportunities and use resources for skills building and employment purposes.
