The goal of the Project is to support the current efforts of the Government of Turkmenistan in strengthening the statistical capacity of the State Committee of Turkmenistan on Statistics (TurkmenStat), as well as improving the quality of statistical data that will contribute to a more detailed assessment and monitoring of economic, monetary and financial developments in the economy.

In this regard, the following components of the Project were identified: 1) Promoting the implementation of the 2008 SNA by preparing the necessary documents and tools, through gender lenses for developing a financial account; 2) Strengthening the capacity of the State Committee of Turkmenistan on Statistics to prepare for the development of a financial account.
