Digital Waste Management (E-Waste Platform)
Project summary:
Creating the Electronic Informative Waste Management System (E-Waste System) will provide an accessible, transparent system for tracking the waste cycle in Ukraine. A more transparent system will also provide effective mechanisms for preventing and countering corruption, reducing the risk of corruption, and strengthening public oversight of the activities of state authorities and local government bodies. The project is being implemented with financial support from the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA).
Project goal:
Create an Electronic Informative Waste Management System (E-Waste System) to ensure the tracking of the waste cycle from generation to disposal or removal, significantly improving analysis, forecasting and making pre-emptive responses by the government more effective. The overall aim is to improve the quality of the provision of administrative services in waste management.
Expected results:
The project’s main result will be to develop an innovative digital tool as an effective solution for strengthening good environmental governance in the sphere of waste management. The project has been prepared in accordance with national strategic plans for digital transformation. The project recognizes potential challenges to people with low digital competences, and is committed to ensuring digital inclusiveness during project implementation.
