Latvia for Chernihiv: Reconstruction of social infrastructure

Project summary:

This project, funded by Latvia and implemented by UNDP, was launched on 7 September 2024 to restore five social infrastructure facilities damaged due to the Russian invasion of parts of Chernihiv Oblast.

Sub-projects:

Overhaul of preschool No. 19 of the Chernihiv City Council of Chernihiv Oblast – construction work in progress until December.

Overhaul of the facade of the Kiyin “Malyatko” Preschool – work completed.

Restoration of the Staryi Bilous Lyceum of the Novyi Bilous Village Council of Chernihiv District – completed.

Overhaul of the food block of the Chernihiv Regional Children's Hospital of the Chernihiv Regional Council at 16 Pirohova Street in the city of Chernihiv – in progress.

Reconstruction and insulation of the facade of Building No. 2 of the Talalaivka Lyceum of Talalaivka Village Council in Nizhyn District of Chernihiv Oblast – completed. Read more

Project goal:

Damaged social infrastructure facilities are restored in a timely, efficient and high-quality manner to mitigate the direct impacts of the war on local communities and to provide residents and IDPs with access to social services. 

Expected results: 

Local communities in Chernihiv region benefit from the restoration of social infrastructure and access to social services.
