Tashkent, Uzbekistan – Paynet has donated 300 million UZS to support UNDP's Green Aral Sea initiative, a crowdfunding project working to restore life to the dried Aral Sea bed. This contribution will go toward planting 23,428 saxaul trees — a resilient species suited to the harsh conditions of the region — helping to stabilize the exposed seabed, prevent toxic salts from dissemination and make a healthier environment for local communities.

As a company that has always put people at the center, Paynet is excited to be a part of this effort to bring a bit of green back to the Aral Sea region, a cause close to the heart of Uzbekistan.

"At Paynet, we’re more than a business; we’re interested in sustainable environment and care deeply about our land and the people who call it home,” said Anvar Isamukhamedov CEO Paynet, “This contribution is our way of giving back, and we hope to see more local companies joining hands for a greener tomorrow.”

"We are happy to have green champions like Paynet supporting Green Aral Sea initiative. This contribution is a powerful example of how local companies can drive positive environmental change. Together, we are not just planting trees but building a foundation for a healthier, more sustainable future for the communities affected by the Aral Sea crisis," said Akiko Fujii, UNDP Resident Representative in Uzbekistan. "We hope this partnership will inspire more businesses to join hands in safeguarding our environment and supporting resilient livelihoods across Uzbekistan."

With over 18 years of trusted service to the people of Uzbekistan, Paynet’s focus on meaningful action aligns seamlessly with the values of the Green Aral Sea initiative and with COP29 that is taking place in Baku these days. Together, we’re turning a vision of environmental renewal into reality, one tree at a time.
