UNDP conducted online training on partnerships and interagency cooperation under inclusive employment and welfare services for persons with disabilities in Uzbekistan

On 26 of June 2024 the United Nations Development Programme held online webinar training on strategies for enhancing interagency cooperation and partnerships, with a focus on improving collaboration and communication among various stakeholders. 

The webinar was attended by more than 90 participants, including the Ministry of employment and poverty reduction of the republic of Uzbekistan, the National Agency for Social Protection under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, all regional Inson Centres, all regional “Ishga Marhamat” Monocentres, Public employment facilitation centres, NGO “Sharoit Plus”, Organisation of People with Disabilities, Association of People with Disabilities of Uzbekistan, Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan, Society of the Deaf of the Uzbekistan, and the Confederation of Employers of Uzbekistan. 

The webinar was conducted by Kai Leichsenring, the executive director and senior researcher and Anette Scoppetta, the deputy director and senior researcher of the European Centre of Social Welfare Policy and Research. 

Participants delved into the critical subject of partnerships and interagency cooperation, which are vital components in joint efforts to integrate persons with disabilities into the labor market. The training aimed to equip with the necessary understanding and skills to foster effective collaboration among various stakeholders, ensuring that the initiatives are not only impactful but also sustainable.

Discussions focused on the importance of partnerships in addressing complex issues related to sustainable development, including integrating persons with disabilities into the labor market, and emphasized the added value of partnerships in improving policies, preventing duplication of work, and promoting sustainable solutions.
