Rano Baykhanova's Journey with UNDP: A Testament to Growth and Green Energy

Rano Baykhanova, a seasoned professional, joined UNDP in 2002, bringing years of prior experience with another international organization. Starting as a Project Assistant for the "Human Security" initiative, supporting Afghan citizens, she quickly immersed herself in the UN system. Working with various UN agencies involved in the project, she gained invaluable knowledge, describing it as a truly unique experience.

In 2005, Rano ventured back into her area of expertise and passion: green energy. Since then, she has dedicated herself to exploring this subject from multiple perspectives, leading to the creation of numerous projects over the years. Her commitment to sustainable development and clean energy has been steadfast.

Reflecting on her time with UNDP, Rano appreciates the organization's constant transformation and adaptability in response to the ever-changing global and local development landscapes. She believes this fosters a culture of continuous self-development among UNDP staff.

Rano now experiences a unique sense of fulfillment when she boards an electric bus, as she was among the pioneers advocating for clean transport. She acknowledges that the impact of development work takes time to materialize, and she considers herself fortunate to witness the results firsthand.
