November 7, 2018

Africa’s robust economic growth has benefited from sound economic and political governance, social investments; however, despite these significant achievements, gender inequality still persists on the continent. This report responds to a specific recommendation of the AfHDR 2016 and its Agenda for Action related to “using gender equality as the organizing lens for development planning at macro, sector, national and sub-regional levels in order to promote the adoption of legal reforms, policies and programs that advance gender equality”. To highlight good practices in gender equality, the report showcases country case studies that enhance economic growth and human well-being.
