In 2016, Russia committed US$10 million for The Russia- UNDP Trust Fund to support efforts to mitigate and prevent the negative effects of climate change in developing countries. Among other results, it supported the ambitions of over 80 entrepreneurs to set up their businesses in Turkmenistan and allowed more than 8000 people in rural Tajikistan to have access to soft micro-loans.
