Geneva presentation of the UNDP Special Report on Human Security

UNDP Geneva is pleased to invite you to attend the Geneva presentation of the UNDP Special Report on Human Security on Thursday, 17 March from 2 to 3.15 p.m. (CET) at the Maison de la Paix in Geneva. The event will be hybrid with attendees both in-person and online.

The report, entitled, “New threats to human security in the Anthropocene: Demanding greater solidarity finds a development conundrum. Despite people on average living longer, healthier, and wealthier lives, these advances have not succeeded in increasing people’s sense of security.

In this context, the Geneva Centre for Security Policy (GCSP) and the UNDP Office in Geneva are joining forces to present the report in Geneva, bringing in a diverse set of voices and perspectives from the security, health, climate, digital and diplomatic communities with the aim of kicking off a global conversation on human security.

GCSP Director Ambassador Thomas Greminger will be joined by UNDP Human Development Report Office (HDRO) Director Pedro ConceiçãoUNDP Geneva Director Agi Veres, the Permanent Representative of Switzerland to the UN, Ambassador Jürg Lauber, and the Executive Director of DiploFoundation, Prof. Jovan Kurbalija, as well as high-level experts from the International Geneva community to discuss how to improve human security in light of emerging threats in the 21st century.
