UNDP and the Government of Denmark Announce Participants Selection Competition

Contest for Green Leadership Programme
UNDP, under the regional project “Greening the Future, Advancing Rights and Stability” funded by the Government of Denmark, offers a comprehensive capacity-building initiative Green Leadership Programme to civil society organisations (CSOs), community-based organisations (CBOs), and local initiative groups working in Poti, Khobi and the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region.
What We Aim to Achieve
The initiative aims to advance their knowledge of green transition issues and provide financial and technical support to implement green initiatives in Poti and Khobi municipalities.
How the Programme Works
The Green Leadership Programme consists of four key components:
- Green Academy
- Alumni Network
- Green Fellowship
- Low-Value Grant Programme
Green Academy and Green School will equip CSOs, CBOs and local initiative groups with practical and theoretical knowledge and skills to drive climate actions and advocacy.
After completing the programme, successful participants will join the Green Leadership Alumni Network and be eligible to participate in additional opportunities, contests, and initiatives exclusively designed for network members.
Most outstanding participants will gain hands-on experience working with leading Georgian organisations in the green transition.
In addition, within the framework of the low-value grants programme announced exclusively for network members, financial support will be provided to the best grassroots initiatives to drive green and just transition within Khobi and Poti communities.
Who Can Apply?
- Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) and Community-Based Organisations (CBOs) working in the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region. Priority will be given to organisations: a) registered in the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region, working in or willing to work in Poti or Khobi municipalities; b) willing to support a green and just transition and contribute to positive environmental change.
- Local Initiative Groups from Poti and Khobi municipalities passionate about sustainability and eager to implement green transition projects within their communities.
How to Apply?
Interested organisations | initiative groups should fill out the application at the following link and nominate a maximum of two representatives to participate in the program.
The deadline for submitting the application is April 27, 2025.
Participation in the programme is free of charge. UNDP will cover the costs of meals, accommodation, and transportation for all participants.

Interested candidates are encouraged to attend an online consultation via Zoom (registration link) on April 11, 2025, at 11 AM.
