Activities
The South Caucasus Peace & Development Advisor (PDA) team helps strengthen cooperation among the UN Country Teams in the South Caucasus on crisis preparedness and peacebuilding programming.
In terms of conflict-related crisis-preparedness, the South Caucasus PDA team has led the process of revising UNDP and inter-agency response and preparedness plans. It has also worked on strengthening skills and capacity of the UNDP staff to respond to conflict-related crisis scenarios.
In terms of peacebuilding programming, the team has been working on identifying entry points for sub-regional project initiatives, engaging civil society networks in the South Caucuses-wide dialogue on sub-regional challenges and priorities, and building support among key international partners and donors for new peace and development initiatives. Finally, the team has provided support to the Resident Coordinators and UNCTs in terms of political analysis informing the UN’s positioning on a wide range of political and conflict-related issues.
