Improving the Rule of Law and Access to Justice for All – Phase 2
Overview
With US$1,582,278 in funding from the German Government, UNDP is enhancing access to justice and promoting the rule of law in Georgia. The project activities also envision support for Ukrainian refugees, ensuring that disadvantaged groups in Georgia are not left behind.
Building on the success of the previous phase (January 2023 – September 2024), Phase II aims to strengthen these efforts further and foster inclusive development.
What We Do
In close coordination with the German Embassy in Tbilisi, the project is guided by two long-term objectives:
- Objective 1: Ensure equitable, people-centred justice for all people in Georgia.
- Objective 2: Facilitate the integration of individuals fleeing conflict, violence, or persecution, including Ukrainian refugees, into Georgian society while building socio-economic resilience.
To achieve these objectives, UNDP implements cross-sectoral interventions in partnership with key stakeholders, including state and non-state actors such as lawyers, mediators, judges, local businesses, NGOs, and community groups.
Our work focuses on socio-economically disadvantaged groups, persons with disabilities, women, minorities, and communities at risk of environmental harm.
Additionally, the project aims to improve access to essential social services and economic opportunities for Ukrainian refugees, ensuring their effective integration into Georgian society.
Through capacity-building initiatives, knowledge exchange, and direct service delivery, we support our partners and beneficiaries to create long-lasting and sustainable change.
