Strengthening SDG Localization in Georgia
Overview
The UN Joint Programme ‘Strengthening SDG Localization in Georgia’ is funded by the Joint SDG Fund and implemented by the three UN agencies – UNDP, FAO, and UNICEF under the coordination of the UN Resident Coordinator’s Office in Georgia.
The two-year programme (2024-2025) focuses on Georgian municipalities, particularly Poti and Khashuri, to enhance local stakeholder capacities and advance inclusive, resilient, and sustainable local development by accelerating progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
The programme supports strategic leadership for SDG monitoring and evidence-based policymaking, food systems transformation, digital solutions for quality service delivery, and child and family-centred social programming.
What We Do
Our activities are shaped around three key objectives:
- Building knowledge and fostering engagement among local stakeholders to support SDG localization.
- Advancing innovative public services and digital inclusion practices.
- Strengthening local governance systems to ensure evidence-based policymaking and SDGs implementation and monitoring.
