Global Compact Local Networks are mechanisms established at country level for members of the UNGC working in the same location to gather and apply the 10 principles in a collective manner in the specific geographic context where they operate. About 100 UNGC Local Networks have been established around the world.
The Iraq UNGC Network is one of them, launched on 15 October 2011 in Baghdad by initiative of UNDP and the Government of Iraq, COMSEC, at the presence of nearly 300 representatives of Iraqi and foreign private sector, senior public officials, civil society, academia and international organizations.
