
“Climate Does Not Wait” competition of climate projects among schoolchildren
Dear schoolchildren, teachers, and educational institutions!
The UN Development Programme in Kazakhstan (UNDP), within the framework of the "Climate Box" project, announces the launch of the “Climate Does Not Wait” Second Competition of Climate Projects for Schoolchildren.
This competition is your opportunity to show yourself and make a real difference in the world.
We seek the most creative, innovative, and actionable ideas to help tackle climate challenges.
Nominations of the competition:
Reducing carbon footprint. This nomination includes projects demonstrating practical approaches and steps to reduce greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere.
Adaptation to climate change. This nomination is open to projects that demonstrate practical approaches and adaptations of natural and human systems to current and expected climate change to minimize damage and exploit possible benefits.
Educational activities. This nomination accepts projects aimed at informing and raising awareness about the causes, consequences, and possible solutions to climate change.
Who can participate?
Children aged 14 to 16 (in grades 8, 9 and 10).
When and how to participate?
Submission of applications: from 7 April to 30 May 2025 at the link.
Projects must be posted on file-sharing sites with open and downloadable links given in the application.

1st consultation: 23 April 2025 at 15:00 (Astana time).
2nd consultation: 14 May 2025 at 15:00 (Astana time).

Awards:
The competition results will be announced on UNDP Kazakhstan's Instagram and Facebook by the end of June.
The first-place winners of the Competition (one school student and one scientific supervisor) will be invited for awarding and participation in the III International Climate School Festival, which will be held within the framework of the UNDP regional project ‘Climate Box.’
