The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has conducted a one-day pilot training on its new business platform (QUANTUM) for eight of its partners and five CSOs at the ONE UN House, Sinkor, Monrovia.

The training is being rolled out to Ministries, Agencies, Commissions (MACs), CSOs, and NGOs that UNDP is currently doing business with and intended to enhance their digital capacity on vendor registration and procurement e-tendering.

During the opening ceremony, James Monibah-Team Lead for the Inclusive Governance Pillar who proxied for the Resident Representative a.i underscored the importance of the training which sets the basis for transparency and ensuring integrity at all levels in doing business with UNDP and vice versa.

Monibah called on partners to use the knowledge to enhance their capacity and to help train others to cut down delays in the submission of applications for procurement notices adding, that the first phase will facilitate new and simplified ways of working with the new system.

Lady-Pokolo Andrewson, Procurement Analyst stressed that this platform would serve as end-to-end process in the submission of service requests digitally instead of through emails. She further echoed that this platform would allow CSOs and NGOs to track their cases every step of the way – from their desktops, phones, or any other mobile device with full internet access.

Robert Dorliae, Learning Manager of UNDP Liberia urged partners to embrace the training which he said will improve the business processes with UNDP with a high degree of efficiency and support to service delivery.

He said this is the first in a series of upcoming exercises that will help service providers gain knowledge and expertise and focus on building inclusive democratic institutions.

Speaking on behalf of the participants Eugene P. S. Gibson; Senior Technical Field Coordinator/M&E at Partners in Development (PADEV) expressed appreciation to UNDP.

This training was attended by 22 persons representing MACs, CSOs and NGOs.

The Quantum Management System, developed by UNDP and consortium partners was launched on January 9, 2023.

The new platform will be accessible for ease of doing business with UNDP by different categories of partners and service providers. It provides updates and resources as the agency transitions and outlines how service delivery will impact clients.
