Since 2017, Mihai Bălan has been the administrator of the "Texiteh" company in the municipality of Cahul. His company produces souvenirs and decorative items. Mihai Bălan works with various types of materials and working methods: laser, engraving, cutting, plywood, plexiglass, paper, cardboard, artificial leather, etc.
After participating in the grant competition for entrepreneurs, held by "EU4Moldova: Focal Regions" programme, in 2020, and being among the winners, Mihai Bălan purchased new metal cutting equipment. With the purchase of this equipment, he expanded his range of products and employed two people.
"The working capacity of this equipment is very high; it has huge productivity; it is already industrial equipment. This project had a beneficial influence on our company, it was like a leap towards a more technological era and allows us to be very prepared for our times," said Mihai Bălan.
In November 2022, Mihai Bălan's company managed to make its first export, which consisted of decorative elements produced with this equipment.
Mihai Bălan is one of the 75 entrepreneurs from Cahul and Ungheni regions who benefited from a grant worth 30,000 euros within the "EU4Moldova: Focal Regions" programme, implemented by UNDP and UNICEF.
