UNDP reaffirms its long-standing commitment to stay and deliver for the people of Afghanistan.

The UN, including UNDP's activities directly reach millions of Afghans with critical support and access to livelihoods and basic services. 

UNDP in Afghanistan supports thousands of women-owned businesses, public works schemes, and small and medium enterprises which allow communities to survive. 

Today, UNDP published a socio-economic outlook report and underscores its deep concern about fast deteriorating poverty conditions. 

The provision of international aid and basic services to millions of Afghans have prevented a full collapse. Continued international assistance remains critical

UNDP and all its staff are committed to stay and deliver for the millions of Afghans in need.

UNDP joins the Secretary-General in calling on the Taliban de facto authorities to immediately revoke the decision banning Afghan women from working for the UN and reverse all measures restricting women’s and girls’ rights.
