Autonomy, Voice and Participation of Persons with Disabilities in Serbia

About the project:
 

The joint project of the UN Team in Serbia is focused on three priority areas concerning the rights of persons with disabilities in the Republic of Serbia - equality before the law, equality of women and girls with disabilities and right to work, in line with the recommendations of the UN Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. Therefore, the project is divided into three pillars of activities led by specialized agencies of the United Nations, with a strong partnership with the Government and with the full participation of organizations of persons with disabilities and civil society. UNDP together with ILO is working on improving inclusion of persons with disabilities in the labour market, through capacity building of stakeholders in order to overcome challenges related to employment of persons with disabilities ant testing innovative models of employment of PWDs.

Expected outcomes: To advance legal framework and practices particular regarding legal capacity of persons with disabilities and employment; To support women and girls with disabilities and their representative organizations effectively advocate for their rights and participate in the public discourse; To improve capacities of the labour market actors and rights holders in order to ensure the inclusion of persons with disabilities.
