Strengthening Disaster Risk Reduction and Response Capacities (SDRRRC)
The project is funded by the Government of Japan at the total amount of US$ 10.6 million with the duration of September 2016 – August 2021. The project is expected to benefit people in Tajikistan and Afghanistan (Badakhshan, Takhar and Kunduz Provinces) through strengthening the two countries’ disaster risk reduction and response capacities and the promotion of cross-border cooperation with Afghanistan to improve disaster response in line with the call under the latest “Central Asia plus Japan” Dialogue. The main partners of the project are Committee of Emergency Situations and Civil Defense under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, Agency for Land Reclamation and Irrigation, Agency of Hydrometeorology of the Committee of Environment Protection under the Government of Tajikistan and Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority.
