UNDP in Tajikistan
Our team

UNDP’s ultimate goal in the country is to improve the living standards of the people, particularly the poorest and most vulnerable, and to ensure a future that offers equality, dignity and opportunity for all.
In October 1993 the Government of Tajikistan and UNDP signed the Standard Basic Assistance Agreement, which contains the basic conditions under which UNDP assists the Government in carrying out development projects and how they are carried out. Thereupon UNDP’s country office in Tajikistan opened in 1994
The number and diversity of donors contributing to UNDP programmes confirms the confidence of the national government and the international and local community in our role as a partner of choice for sustainable development.
UNDP's Country Office in Tajikistan, active since 1994, plays a crucial role in supporting the country’s national development strategy for poverty alleviation.
Today's development challenges are complex and each context is different. That's why we tailor our work to fit the needs of the countries and communities we serve.
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), otherwise known as the Global Goals, are a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity.
