Behavioural Insights and Impact Study on Pocket Park

“The study on “Behavioral Insights and Impact Study on Pocket Park” has been conducted by UNDP Accelerator Lab in Nepal to measure the effectiveness of wheelchair friendly prototype of pocket park constructed at Pulchwok, Lalitpur with support from Vriksha Foundation and in collaboration with Lalitpur Metropolitan City and WWF in early 2020. Though the park is of around 600 square feet, it has features such as greenery, lighting, seating arrangement and a wheelchair-friendly aisle. This study has covered a wide range of retrospective responses from park visitors, nearby community (including entrepreneurs, households and community groups) and government officials. The results from this study is based on an amalgamation of three methodologies: ethnographic study, random sampling using structured questionnaire and purposive sampling for Key Informant Interviews. One of the major purpose of the study was to collect the lessons learnt and recommend concrete steps for betterment of similar infrastructural developments in the future.
