After more than a decade using the Atlas ERP solution, the UNDP Bureau of Management Services are leading the transition to a new Oracle Cloud ERP platform in close coordination with a multi-agency project team.  

This initiative, currently called #NextGenERP, will transform and streamline core business processes that will benefit UNDP and UN partner organizations who also use our ERP well into the next decade.  

#NextGenERP is a joint, multi-year project between UNDP and seven UN partners that covers current ATLAS functionality and introduce industry-leading cloud-technology. It will be rolled-out in stages from early 2023 and is expected to be fully implemented by January 2023. 

The project aims to deliver a more unified, integrated, process-oriented system across UNDP and its partner agencies providing a common user experience across many business functions and harnessing harmonization and collaboration between partner agencies. This will allow UNDP to reduce management and operational costs and will contribute to the realization of UNDP’s Strategic Plan 2018-2021. 

The Bureau of Management Services and the ITM team are driving the transition process in close coordination with a multi-agency project team. A kick-off workshop held 24 September 2020 introduced more than 300 stakeholders from across UNDP and partner agencies to the project scope and timeline. This was followed by a series of function-specific bootcamps across October that introduced the Oracle Cloud ERP platform and demonstrated how this functionality could be applied to meet our business need.

Since November, the Project Team and business focal points from across agencies have been engaged in Deep Dive sessions to review existing processes and better understand how UN operations can be modelled in the new platform.
