Our leadership
Camilla Brückner is the Director of the UN/UNDP Office in Brussels and Representative of the UN System in the EU.
Prior to Brussels, she served as the Director of the UNDP Nordic Representation Office and Manager of the UN City and joint UN functions in Copenhagen. Previously, she was Deputy Chief of Staff and Deputy Director of the UNDP's Executive Office in New York.
As a diplomat, Camilla formerly served close to 15 years in the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including as Deputy Permanent Representative in New York. She also worked in the European Commission as a Policy Adviser on human rights in the field of humanitarian affairs, and earlier in development where she evaluated the Commission's development programmes in Africa.
Camilla began her career in Brussels as a trainee in the European Commission, the private sector and then as a researcher at the Centre for European Policy Studies. She is a graduate of the London School of Economics and Political Science and the Copenhagen Business School.
Georges van Montfort is the Deputy Director of UNDP's Representation Office in Brussels
Prior to joining the office, he served as UNDP Resident Representative in Zimbabwe. He was the Regional Advisor and Cluster Leader for East and Southern Africa in UNDP’s Regional Bureau for Africa in New York (2011-2017) overseeing the work of 17 UNDP country offices in the sub-region. He has served as Deputy Resident Representative in UNDP Lesotho (2008 – 2011) prior to which he was Management Advisor in UNDP’s internal Management Consulting Team (2004-2008), promoting operational efficiency and a focus on development results at global, regional and country level.
Georges van Montfort started his career with UNDP in Tunisia as a Programme and Coordination Analyst (2002-2004). Prior to UNDP, he worked as Management Consultant and Analyst at Andersen Consulting (now Accenture), supporting post-merger integration in the private sector in Europe and the Americas (1998-2022). He has a Masters Degree in mathematics and computer science from Delft University of Technology (Netherlands). He is married and father of two.
