Following the outcomes of the 2016 World Humanitarian Summit, and subsequent elaboration by the UN Secretary-General, the Humanitarian-Development-Peace nexus is intended to ensure strong cooperation, collaboration and coordination between humanitarian, development and peacebuilding efforts at the national level to ensure collective outcomes on the basis of joined-up, coherent, complementary and risk-informed analysis, planning and action.
UNDP operates fully in this space with strong commitments to ensure development approaches address underlying causes of humanitarian and peacebuilding needs; and in leading relevant international deliberative fora and inter-agency mechanisms to ensure development perspectives are ingrained deeply in our joint approaches to resolving the causes and consequences of crises.
