The study provides a broad overview of the status of domestication of global and regional human rights commitments on ending violence against women
and girls (EVAWG) in all 55 African Union (AU) the Member States and a deep-dive analysis for 18 Member States. It also includes case studies for six countries −Angola, Burundi, Egypt, Kenya, Nigeria, and South Africa– which provide an overview of the context of EVAWG. The study assesses the existing legal and policy frameworks within RECs recognized by the AU.
