Approach to assessing the vulnerability of the water and agriculture sectors in Uzbekistan to climate change impacts

August 9, 2023

Climate change continues and global warming is setting new and new records. In addition to doing everything possible to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and slow down the pace of global warming, countries also need to adapt to climate impacts in order to increase their adaptability to new climate challenges. For effective planning and prioritization, information about how vulnerable a particular sector of the economy is to climate change plays an important role. For Uzbekistan, the issue of efficient use of water resources and food security is quite acute. As part of the project to develop a National Adaptation Plan (NAP), a study was conducted on how vulnerable the water sector and agriculture are to climate change. More detailed information about the results of the study can be found at the link.
