Uzbekistan NDC2 Stocktake

This report assesses the progress in the implementation of the Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) committed by the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2021 to contribute to achieving the goal of the Paris Agreement. The Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan and its National Climate Centre and Agency for Hydrometeorological Service (Uzhydromet), and the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan with the support of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) within the framework of the Global Programme “Climate Promise” comprehensively collected the data, information and evidence on the status of the NDC2 targets (mitigation and adaptation) achieving progress. The assessment identifiedd the barriers and gaps hindering measure implementation, and level of implementation of the committed measures, including climate financing aspects, with focus on the gender and social inclusion considerations. NDC is one of the strongest tools available to integrate climate with national development priorities, plans, and investments. NDC stocktake paves the way to the next more ambitious national commitments to combat the global climate change challenge and for transition to a green economy.
