Achieving SDG 12: Bridging the Intent-Action Gap among Young Consumers

This brief summarizes key findings of a behavioural science study exploring the motivations of youth as consumers, how they define sustainability, and what role that idea plays in their shopping decisions. It also provides ideas for designing interventions to incentivize youth to consume more responsibly, while also motivating States and businesses to align their operations with business and human rights principles.
It also distills some of the behavioural science techniques used to answer these questions.
