In Bahrain, the UNDP marked International Youth Day 2024 in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth Affairs through a series of events. The most recent event was a session titled "Youth for the SDGs," which centered on social innovation and its significance in empowering young people. This session was a key part of the broader Youth City 2030 initiative.

As part of this initiative, UNDP Bahrain, in partnership with the Ministry of Youth Affairs and the Manama Shapers, a Bahraini youth-serving organization, delivered the "Youth for Planet" program. This two-day capacity-building workshop aimed to enhance young people's understanding of the SDGs, the elements of environmental sustainability, and how they can contribute to sustainable practices.

UNDP Bahrain is also wrapping up the 10th edition of its Youth Leadership Programme (YLP). YLP10 is a six-week capacity-building initiative designed to accelerate and empower youth to help build a better future for all. This year's theme, "Youth as Community Builders: Collaborative Action towards the SDGs through Effective Communication and Digital Innovation," emphasizes the pivotal role of youth as community leaders in driving development. The program highlights the importance of digital and communication tools as essential enablers for achieving the SDGs and equips participants with the skills necessary to thrive in the digital era.
