On August 14, 2024, the UNDP Bahrain office signed a cooperation agreement with the Abdulrahim Al-Kooheji Charitable Foundation, marking a significant step towards the development of future youth programs. This strategic partnership will launch a series of initiatives aimed at empowering young people and engaging them in the development process, including the Youth Leadership Program in partnership with the Ministry of Youth Affairs.
The signing ceremony was attended by Ms. Jehan AlMurbati, Acting Director of the UNDP Bahrain office, and Mr. Mohammed Al-Ansari, CEO of Abdulrahim Al-Kooheji Charitable Foundation.
Commenting on the partnership, Engineer Abdulrahim Al-Kooheji, Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Abdulrahim Al-Kooheji Charitable Foundation, expressed pride in the collaboration, stating, "We are proud of our partnership with the UNDP Bahrain office, which aligns with our efforts to support youth participation and empowerment through initiatives like the Youth Leadership Program. This program is designed to prepare knowledgeable leaders who can tackle societal challenges by achieving the Sustainable Development Goals."
Ms. Jehan AlMurbati added, "We aim to collaborate with youth-supporting institutions such as the Abdulrahim Al-Kooheji Charitable Foundation to raise awareness about the importance of the Sustainable Development Goals and to inspire their implementation, fostering a better society and nurturing generations aware of their responsibilities towards the local community. Today's agreement lays the foundation for our cooperation with the Foundation, which is a key player in youth empowerment in Bahrain."
This agreement not only strengthens the relationship between UNDP Bahrain and local institutions but also sets the stage for impactful initiatives that will empower Bahrain’s youth to contribute actively to the country's sustainable development.
