Enhancing Gender Visibility in Disaster Risk Management and Climate Change in the Caribbean: Country assessment Guyana

Part of a regional study titled Enhancing Gender Visibility in Disaster Risk Management and Climate Change in the Caribbean this report presents the findings of the Guyana Country Assessment. Research was carried out between February and October 2008, and involved interviews with seven governmental, non-governmental and civil society agencies involved in disaster risk management, as well as a review of relevant documents.
The report analyses gender difference in the context of vulnerability and risk, outlines relevant socio-economic indicators that set the context, and presents key issues and recommendations for Guyana.
