Assessing Public Participation in the Policymaking Process

The present set of publications evaluates the public participation aspect of the selected policy documents from the 2020 and 2021 cohorts. The objectives of these studies are to assess compliance of the conducted public consultations with the new regulations; to analyze the quality and usefulness of public consultations; to identify the existing gaps and develop recommendations for improvement.
The research team utilized a qualitative methodology approach to data collection and analysis. A total of 62 interviews and three observations were conducted to gather information and evaluate twenty strategy documents. The research respondents were selected from different gender and ethnicity, respondents with disabilities and with different working focus.
The studies were conducted by the NGO WeResearch with assistance from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the British Government.
