Pacific Island people will be more resilient to the impacts of climate change and disasters if all Pacific Island people determine and lead Pacific resilient development.
The UNDP Gov4Res project creates spaces for developing and implementing progressive and tailored governance shifts towards more resilient development. By nurturing sharing and learning on the same topics, Pacific decision makers and stakeholders will have the opportunity and capacity to shape and deliver enhanced resilience through their governance systems.
Gov4Res places gender equality, disability and social inclusion at the center of resilient development.
“The opportunity is now to transform – identify the right entry points . . . . The frequency of disasters means it’s an opportune time for risk-informed development”
Director General Leith Veremaito, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Vanuatu
Gov4Res is delivered by the UNDP Pacific Office in Fiji in partnership with the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Korea International Cooperation Agency, New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency and the United Kingdom’s Commonwealth, Foreign and Development Office.
