The celebration of WAD 2012 within the UN system in Rwanda will took place on the Friday 30th November .The focus of this year WAD at UN was to raise awareness about HIV and AIDS and the UN Cares 10 minimum standards among UN staff.
For greater participation of all UN staff, in the World Aids Day (WAD), together with UN Cares focal points and UN+ members,, organized a 2 week inter-agency (from 14 – 30 November) competition that will finish on the 30th of November with a UN staff town hall meeting where the winner will be announced.
Each UN agency was invited to participate under the leadership of their UN Cares /UN+ focal point.
There were 5 challenges which are related to the implementation of the HIV programs at work place. Every couple of days, all UN staff received by e-mail a challenge that was to be completed before the indicated deadline.
This inter-agency competition objectives were to: mobilize support from leadership and staff active engagement and commitment to implement HIV programs at workplace and to raise awareness about HIV prevention, care and protection
