Issue #6 – Data as the catalyst for development

We hear that data is the new oil, sand, gold, currency, water – and potentially everything in between. But how can we use it to improve lives and livelihoods? With 2022 starting with a sophisticated cyberattack against the ICRC that exposed the personal information of more than 500,000 people, there is a lot that we can look into doing better, particularly as development organisations become increasingly privileged and powerful data actors.
