Advancing Digital Inclusion in a Dynamic World

Digital technologies are essential for the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), directly benefiting 70% of the SDG targets. The landscape of digital inclusion is and will be characterised by constant evolution and adaptation to emerging technological trends and political, economic, as well as societal dynamics. This includes new opportunities enabled by digital, but also new harms and threats – including growing cyber insecurity, and the interplay between online and offline factors.

Drawing on broader research, digital inclusion sits at the intersection of important and evolving global trends – such as, trust deficit, debt dilemma, demographic changes, evolving nature of poverty, among others – highlighting the complex, multidimensional, and dynamic nature of digital inclusion.
