Human Rights Due Diligence Training Facilitation Guide
Human Rights Due Diligence Training Facilitation Guide
October 4, 2022
UNDP through the Business and Human Rights Project has been supporting the Royal Thai Government led by the Rights and Liberties Protection Department of the Ministry of Justice since the process of drafting to implementing the National Action Plan on Business and Human Rights (NAP) (2019 – 2022).
As part of the expectation in the NAP, companies are required to conduct human rights due diligence (HRDD) by identifying and preventing actual and potential human rights risks throughout their value chain and taking responsible action to stop, lessen, and account for any violations of human rights they may be responsible for through their operations and commercial partnerships.
This Training Facilitation Guide (‘training guide’) offers training modules that clarify what is required to conduct human rights due diligence by focusing on the basics and sticking to internationally agreed principles and widely understood terminology. Applying a step-by-step approach, allows businesses to embark on HRDD as a stand-alone effort or as part of a preexisting assessment process.
UNDP is committed to supporting the Thai government and businesses to transform their commitment to Protect, Respect, Remedy framework under the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs) into action.
