The 1st Strategic Planning Workshop for Model Factories was successfully held on 1-2 November 2024 as part of the Applied SME Capability Center - Model Factory Project carried out by the Ministry of Industry and Technology in cooperation with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). This workshop gathered directors and trainers from 10 Model Factories across Türkiye to envision the future of these centers.

The two-day workshop featured training sessions and collaborative group exercises designed to enhance the strategic direction of Model Factories, which play a critical role in boosting productivity and accelerating digital transformation for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

On the first day, participants engaged in in-depth training on strategic planning, sustainable reporting, and process management. The second day focused on collaborative activities where each Model Factory team applied the principles of strategic planning to their unique contexts. Through group studies, participants worked on mission, vision statements and outlined strategies within the framework of the EFQM (European Foundation for Quality Management) Model, which supports businesses in managing change and improving performance and shapes their journey to create sustainable value.

As a conclusion of the workshop, which was organized to shape the future of Model Factories in Türkiye, it is aimed to diversify and sustain the lean and digital transformation services provided to SMEs.
