Principles of Service Delivery in Uganda’s Local Governments Handbook

November 19, 2015

Uganda’s decentralised service delivery frame work provides for a mixture of approaches to service delivery. These include; direct provision by local governments; private sector delivery; and civil society service delivery. They are guided by various instruments, however, there are no harmonised principles to guide service delivery. To manage this, the Ministry of Local Government has come up with a handbook of principles to guide service delivery. The handbook highlights 12 principles each followed by the best practises that the local governments should observe.
