2024 was a remarkable year for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Uganda, fulfilling the role as a thought leader and support platform to accelerate the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) within the broader UN Country Team (UNCT).

Complementing the Government of Uganda’s efforts, UNDP’s interventions from Kampala to Kisoro, Mbarara to Kabale, Amudat to Soroti, Gulu to Mbale, Adjumani to Lamwo, Kasese to Jinja, Moroto to Tororo, and across other locations have supported communities to rebuild lives and futures with hope and dignity, empower communities, scale-up prosperity, promote peace and firmly situate Uganda on the path to sustainable development.

As we reflect on the year 2024, UNDP in partnership with the Government and people of Uganda continues to strive for innovation to be nurtured, biodiversity to be protected, and Uganda’s population to thrive in prosperity. Our mission is to make a tangible difference, and the stories that shaped 2024 show just that and more.
