Kyiv, 27 February 2025 – Ukraine’s Ministry of Digital Transformation has launched a new free educational course on the Diia.Education platform called “ChatGPT: Your Personal Assistant in Work, Study and Life.”(link is external) The new course provides the public with an opportunity to master one of the most powerful artificial intelligence tools, which is used by over 300 million people worldwide every week to learn and work more effectively and quickly.

The course was created as part of the DIA Support Project, which the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Ukraine is implementing with funding from Sweden, for the Diia.Education platform.

The educational course consists of eight videos, which simply and clearly set out various ways to use artificial intelligence, using the example of ChatGPT. It has been designed to be useful to office workers, entrepreneurs, civil servants, students, and educators, along with anyone who has not yet fully exploited the potential of ChatGPT.

The course stands out for its comprehensiveness, systematicity and practical orientation. It goes beyond basic familiarity with ChatGPT, providing practical advice on the intelligent and effective use of artificial intelligence in work and education.

The course curriculum covers:

●   Practical cases for using ChatGPT internationally, and in Ukraine

●   Principles and approaches to formulating queries in ChatGPT to get the best results

●   How to use ChatGPT as a creative partner for finding ideas, editing texts and working with visual content

●   Employing ChatGPT as an assistant for data analysis

●   ChatGPT as an assistant for students and teachers in the context of education

●   ChatGPT in everyday life, and for personal matters

●   Understanding the safe use of ChatGPT – what data cannot be entered into the AI service, possible biases, and the importance of critical thinking, common sense and checking generated content.

Valeriia Ionan, Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation for European Integration, said that according to the AI Index Report, 55% of organisations worldwide have integrated artificial intelligence into at least one business process, demonstrating rapid growth in technology adoption. “It’s important to view AI not as a threat but as a tool that enhances efficiency and creates new opportunities,” Ionan said. “That’s why the educational series on Diia.Education is dedicated to this topic, as every Ukrainian needs to know how to use artificial intelligence to their advantage and confidently adapt to a digital future. AI will not replace human experience, but will become a powerful assistant for working faster and more productively.”

Jaco Cilliers, UNDP’s Resident Representative in Ukraine, said digital inclusion was a cornerstone of Ukraine's resilience and recovery strategy. “Our collaboration with Sweden and the Ministry of Digital Transformation goes beyond skills development to address systemic barriers in the digital landscape,” Cilliers said. “By equipping Ukrainians with these essential competencies, we're bridging critical digital divides and laying the foundation for an equitable, innovation-driven recovery.”

The creator and expert behind the course is Oleksii Minakov, a consultant on the implementation and use of generative artificial intelligence.

Ukraine has set itself the ambitious goal of becoming one of the top three countries in the world in terms of the level of development and implementation of artificial intelligence by 2030. Increasing general AI literacy among Ukrainians and training citizens in the latest technologies will help in achieving these goals, the government believes.
