A Resilient Picture: Experiences of Persons with Disabilities in Ukraine

June 10, 2024

This research examines the impact of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine on persons with disabilities, providing current data and policy recommendations. It investigates barriers to accessing resources, services, and information, and how demographic profiles influence these barriers. Additionally, it analyzes challenges related to mental well-being, social isolation, economic difficulties, migration tendencies, and exposure to war-related adversities for persons with disabilities in Ukraine.

The report is based on reSCORE data, which is a joint initiative funded by USAID and UNDP and implemented by SeeD, serving as an annual assessment tool for societal resilience and recovery and informing the policies and programming of national, regional, and international partners.

The report was jointly developed by the Centre for Sustainable Peace and Democratic Development (SeeD), the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Ukraine with financial support from the European Union, provided within the “EU4Recovery – Empowering Communities in Ukraine” (EU4Recovery) project.
